Fighting the Proposed LG+E Pipeline
Note: This was made last year and needs to be updated. We are more than happy to have a conversation and provide more information if you want to reach out!
KSEC's Pipeline Resistance Panel
Learn what LG+E does and says when they think no one is watching.
Actions You Can Take
Join the Efforts by Filling Out This Form
1. Talk to Your Neighbors
We are hosting community conversations and canvassing events. You can attend and help out or do your own. Can be as simple as casual conversations with people who live near you, at work, other circles you frequent. Invite to events, hand out fliers, literature, activate folks to think about who they can talk to.
(Our Events Listed Below)
2. Host a Movie Screening & Community Conversation of "The End of the Line" or the Above Pipeline Panel
This is a great way to get information, see patterns of people abusing power to try and build a pipeline, and build on our strategy.
3. Sign this Petition
4. Send Letters (Templates Included)
Have your kids, friends, family, neighbors, coworkers sign and send letters!
5. Amplify Media + Events
Similarly, tweeting and sharing #stopLG&Epipeline media increases our awareness and shows decision makers how many constituents care (..and could cost them their seat). Use our hashtags #nonewpipelines #stopthelgepipeline #savebernheimnow and/or tag decision makers.
Decision Makers:
Andy Beshear (KY Governor)
John Crockett (CEO of LG+E)
Vince Sorgi (LG&E's Parent Company Chairman)
Kent Chandler (KY Public Service Commission Chair)
Just talking to people about this is important and impactful. We want to build the power of every day people and communities to have real say over what happens to them! Empower the people around you with the information that the people in power intentionally keep from us.

Our Stance
We know we're all coming to this with a wide variety of perspectives, opinions, and concerns. Our top priority is to build the power of communities and people over companies who come in and make decisions for us. Utilities should be for the people by the people, not working for companies that put their profits over our needs. We've gathered information by doing research, but more importantly: speaking to the workers, small landowners and farmers, the communities impacted to gather direct information and sources. The image only gets more and more clear. Big business thinks it can manipulate us in order to continue getting away with putting us and the land at risk so they can rake in more money for themselves.
There is no *one solution*. We are not here to come in as saviors with the magical solution. We're here to help create community discussions and power, ensuring we can all have a say in what our needs are to have a safe and healthy life.
We are not sacrifice zones! We shouldn't have to move in order to access clean air, water, land, and escape the risk of being near likely explosions.
