There are stairs, a chair lift, and an elevator inside. The Plantory has gender neutral bathrooms and a communal kitchen space (no oven). There are a variety of chair types (including armless, metal frame) and the building is climate controlled, but can be drafty. There is WiFi. We are too! KSEC's Just Transition Working Group is launching a new campaign. We are calling on folks who are ready to commit to making a difference to join us as we choose campaign goals and finalize our plans. If you have been curious about joining KSEC and the just transition, whether you're an experienced activist or brand new, this a great opportunity. We welcome you to join an open call at the time that is most convenient for you. All calls will be on Google Hangouts with voice and video options. KSEC is an intersectional, youth-led organization. Anti-oppression is a core principle of our organizing and we strive to create inclusive, accessible spaces. All KSEC leaders are invited to join us for our 2019 Annual Meeting! This KSEC-wide convening brings all of our leaders together in one space to build community, grow our power, and make plans. Food, housing, and transportation scholarships are provided.
The meeting officially takes place from 10:30 AM Saturday to 4 PM Sunday, but we are hosting an optional Anti-Oppression training at 6:30 PM Friday night to set the tone for the weekend and kickoff our 2019 AO Solidarity Tour! If you indicated that you need a carpool, gas scholarship, or housing, a staff member will be in touch with you to finalize the logistics. Keep an eye out for the event address! Join us on November 17th in Lexington for a day of learning and sharing ideas around pipeline resistance. We'll have a panel of pipeline resisters from across the country and workshops about gas and pipeline issues in Kentucky, the national pipeline resistance landscape, grassroots organizing 101 and non-violent direct action 101. Join student activists from across the state on October 19th-21st at Lago Linda Hideaway for a weekend of building grassroots power through workshops, trainings, planning for the coming year, good food and great company! We will be camping at a beautiful wooded retreat area and all meals will be provided! Registered participants will receive a logistics packet including a packing list, emergency information, and detailed directions to the site. The deadline to register is Monday, October 15th.
